Wolf: Raphael Wolf is in the running to replace Tim Wiese as Werder Bremen’s first-choice goalkeeper after joining the Bundesliga club for an undisclosed fee from Austrian club Kapfenberg. The 23-year-old has signed a three-year contract and joins Sebastian Mielitz in a battle to take the jersey left by Wiese following his transfer to Hoffenheim.

Raggi: Monaco have completed the transfer of Italian defender Andrea Raggi from Bologna. The 27-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Ligue 2 side, worth €1.2m a season. The move was widely expected after the player turned down the offer of a renewal with the Serie A club.

Inter: Andrea Stramaccioni was given the go-ahead by Inter to name a 20-man squad for the end-of-season tour of Indonesia, starting tomorrow with a friendly against an Indonesian League XI. Inter play Indonesia’s Under-23 side on Satur-day. Stramaccioni has selected a relatively strong squad, although the players involved in Euro 2012 have all been left at home.

Vastic: Ivica Vastic paid the price for another trophy-less season at Austria Vienna when he was sacked by the club after six months in charge. The last of Austria Vienna’s 23 league titles came in 2005/06 and since then Austrian football has been dominated by Salzburg who enjoy the financial backing of the Red Bull manufacturer.

Eninho: South Korea’s top sports body yesterday rejected a second attempt to confer citizenship on Brazilian midfielder Eninho of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors ahead of the 2014 World Cup. The Korea Olympic Committee (KOC) said it would not support an application for “special naturalisation”, which would give him dual Brazilian and South Korean citizenship.

Batista: Former Argentina coach Sergio Batista is close to signing a contract with big-spending Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, who are on the lookout to replace Jean Tigana. A successful swoop for Batista would come after 2006 World Cup-winning Italian coach Marcello Lippi took charge of rivals Guang-zhou Evergrande last week.
