Miljanic: Miljan Miljanic, the former coach of Yugoslavia, Red Star and Real Madrid and Valencia, has died in Serbia at the age of 81. After a brief career as a defender with Red Star, Miljanic coached the team and won 10 national titles. However, his greatest success was with Real , where he coached from 1974 to 1977.

Friendly: France will play Ger-many in a friendly on February 6, 2013 as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Elysee Treaty, a Treaty of Friendship between the two countries. The French federation did not specify where the match would take place.

Hooligans: A court in Austria handed down jail sentences to a first tranche of 82 Rapid Vienna fans who went on the rampage in one of the capital’s main train stations in 2009. A 29-year-old ringleader of the club’s Ultra Rapid hardcore fans was given a 14-month sentence while another received 10 months.

Grant: Partizan Belgrade have named Avram Grant as their new coach after sacking Aleksandar Stanojevic over a dispute with the club’s board. Grant, the former Chelsea, Portsmouth and Israel boss, returns to management a little over six months after being sacked by West Ham following their relegation from the Premier League.

Rehman: Ex-Fulham defender Zesh Rehman has joined Hong Kong champions Kitchee Sports Club. Rehman, who is British-born but plays for Pakistan, made English football history in 2004 when he became the first Asian player to start for a Premier League club by playing for Fulham against Liverpool.

Viviano: Inter’s international goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano, who hasn't played this season because of left knee ligament damage, joined fellow Serie A side Palermo yesterday on a deal until 2016. Viviano, capped five times, has been out of action since his injury suffered on July 23.

Everton: Everton’s FA Cup tie at home to Fulham will be played on Friday, Jan. 27. Liverpool host Manchester United in the televised match on Saturday lunch-time so the Toffees have opted for a late kick-off the night before.
