McCormack: Blackburn Rovers and Wolves are set to make a move for Leeds striker Ross McCormack in January. The Scotland inter-national, 25, who is contracted at Elland Road until 2013, has attracted the interest of both clubs who are struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League. McCormack has been in fine form this season and is the Championship club’s top scorer with 11 goals.

Conti: Daniele Conti will be out of the game until mid-January following injury, Cagliari said yesterday. The midfielder sus-tained the injury on Sunday against Parma following a clash with Stefano Morrone. Conti will miss the games against Chievo and Milan, as well as possibly the January tie versus Genoa.

Lewandowski: Borussia Dort-mund striker Robert Lewandowski has been voted Poland’s player of the year, beating team-mate Lukasz Piszczek and Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to the title. The 23-year-old won the award after a poll by Polish sports magazine Pilka Nozna.

Haraguchi: Japan international striker Genki Haraguchi has been suspended from activities at his J-League club Urawa Reds for a week after injuring a team-mate in a scuffle on a training ground. The 20-year-old kicked defender Takuya Okamoto when they were separated by a coach after getting into a shoving match after training at a facility in Urawa. Okamoto, 19, dislocated his left shoulder.

Goetze: Mario Goetze will miss Borussia Dortmund’s final two games of 2011 after tearing his hamstring at the weekend. The 19-year-old suffered the injury in Sunday’s 1-1 home draw against Kaiserslautern after coming off the bench to play the last 25 minutes.

Jovetic: Fiorentina received a boost yesterday with the news that Montenegro playmaker Stevan Jovetic has not suffered a hip sprain. Jovetic pulled out at the last minute ahead of Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Inter with pain in his hip. But tests showed he has not pulled a muscle and the club say he will be evaluated to see if he will be fit to play against Atalanta at the weekend.
