Chelsea: Chelsea have appointed one of London’s leading developers to explore the feasibility of building a new stadium at Battersea Power Station. The club, who still need to buy back the freehold of Stamford Bridge before they can move anywhere, are acting in order to ensure they would not miss out should the location emerge as their most viable option were they to choose to relocate from their current home.

Celtic: Celtic have signed Swedish international defender Mikael Lustig from Norwegian side Rosenborg. The 24-year-old will join Celtic in January after signing a three-and-a-half year contract. “This is a really exciting time for me and I am delighted to be committing my future to Celtic,” Lustig told the club’s website.

Paris SG: Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo reiterated his faith in coach Antoine Kombouare, insisting he will not be sacked even if PSG lose at arch-rivals Marseille tomorrow. “Kombouare is the coach,” Leonardo said. “If we lose at Marseille, he’ll still be the coach.”

Djeparov: Uzbekistan’s Server Djeparov admitted he still craved a move to Europe after becoming only the second two-time Asian footballer of the year. The 29-year-old goal-scoring midfielder said it was his “dream” to switch to Europe’s big-money leagues after a club career which has taken him from Uzbekistan to South Korea and Saudi Arabia.

N. Xamax: The Chechen boss of Swiss club Neuchatel Xamax, Bulat Chagaev, appeared before prosecutors in Geneva yesterday amid forgery and attempted fraud allegations. Chagaev is under investigation after media reports suggested he had submitted a falsified documentz to prove his solvency during a bankruptcy trial.
