Sneijder: Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder has been ruled out of the club’s Champions League match with Trabzonspor tomorrow with a thigh strain. The Dutchman pulled up in the warm-up ahead of Saturday’s 2-1 win over Cagliari and had to be replaced by Brazilian Coutinho, who scored the winner.

Ogbonna: Angelo Ogbonna told reporters he would never leave Torino for a move to city rivals Juventus. “Will I join Juve? Never... let’s not even joke about this,” Ogbonna said, to quash rumours that Juventus are planning a bid for the Torino youngster. “My dream is to play at the highest level and in a big club, but not with Juventus. No, never.”

Brown: Billy Brown reiterated his desire to land the Hibernian manager’s job on a permanent basis after the 1-1 Premier League draw with his former club Kilmarnock at Easter Road on Saturday. Following 23 years as assistant boss to Jim Jefferies, caretaker boss Brown was seeking to prove his credentials as long-term successor to Colin Calderwood, who was sacked on November 6. “I didn’t feel any different from what I usually feel,” said Brown as Hibs are seeking their fifth manager in four years.

Kenwright: Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has confirmed there are “three or four” parties interested in buying the club, but none are close to getting any buy-out process under way. Everton have been linked with a number of names in recent months but Kenwright said the process was a long way from being concluded. “We are constantly linked with people by the media but that is because we are constantly out there and have been for three years,” he said.

Bulgaria: The Bulgarian Football Union are to appeal against a 40,000-euro fine imposed by UEFA after “discriminatory” chanting by home fans during the Euro 2012 qualifier against England on September 2. The BFU announced yesterday that they would appeal against the penalty imposed by UEFA and seek clarification over why the fine was imposed.
