Reus: Germany midfielder Marco Reus is fit to face Holland in next Tuesday’s friendly after recovering from the stomach ‘flu which kept him out of yesterday’s match against Ukraine. The 22-year-old was forced to cry off last Tuesday after falling ill and it was the fifth time in seven selections that he has had to withdraw from the Germany squad.

Gers' trial: Rangers are set to take Indian strikers Sunil Chhetri and Jeje Lalpekhlua on trial in the hope that they can impress enough to win contracts with the Scottish champions. Chhetri, 27, is an India international who currently plays for I-League side Mohun Bagan. Lalpekhlua, 20, also capped for the national team, is regarded as one of his country’s most promising young talents.

Agbonlahor: Gabriel Agbonlahor has been ruled out of England’s friendly with Spain at Wembley today with a hamstring injury. The Aston Villa man was hoping to win his fourth cap but suffered an injury in training on Thursday. While the damage is not thought to be serious, it was decided to send Agbonlahor back to Villa for further treatment.

Matuzalem: Lazio midfielder Francesco Matuzalem, 31, has declared himself fit and is back in Edy Reja’s squad after missing three matches. The Brazilian has been out of action with a thigh injury picked up late last month against Bologna. Matuzalem also missed Lazio’s match in the Europa League against FC Zurich.

Wickham: Sunderland striker Connor Wickham suffered no serious damage when he injured his knee at Manchester United. Manager Steve Bruce feared the 18-year-old had damaged ligaments when he went down in agony at Old Trafford just seconds into last weekend’s 1-0 defeat. However, initial scans suggested the damage was not as serious as first thought, and further examinations have revealed no lasting problem.
