Barusso: Ghanaian midfielder Ahmed Barusso was involved in a frightening attack by disgruntled Roma fans following training, his agent revealed yesterday. The 26-year-old’s car was kicked by several fans as he left Roma’s Trigoria training complex on Tuesday. Fans shouted at him to leave the club. As he is from a non-EU country, Barusso is occupying one of the limited spaces in the squad allowed for other players.

Huntelaar: Schalke coach Ralf Rangnick said striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is not for sale despite a report Russian club Rubin Kazan are willing to pay €14 million euros for him. The 27-year-old has a contract with the Royal Blues until June 2013.

Ameobi: Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi has signed a two-year contract extension, which will keep him at St James’ Park until the summer of 2014. The 29-year-old made his Magpies debut in 2000 and has played over 300 games for the club, scoring 70 goals. Ameobi, who came up through the youth ranks at Newcastle, netted nine times in the Premier League last season as the club finished 12th in the standings.

Leno: Bayer Leverkusen have signed Stuttgart goalkeeper Bernd Leno on loan as cover for their injury problems between the posts. The 19-year-old has joined Leverkusen until the end of 2011.

Bebe: Manchester United’s on-loan winger Bebe has torn his anterior cruciate ligament, Besiktas said. Bebe is set to be out for six months after suffering the injuring while playing for Portugal U-21s in Slovakia on Tuesday. Besiktas, where Bebe, 21, was on a season-long loan, said they had contacted United to discuss where the operation should take place.

Murphy: QPR have signed former Ipswich keeper Brian Murphy on a two-year deal following a successful spell at the club during pre-season training. As well as Ipswich, Murphy has had previous spells at Man-chester City, Oldham, Peterboro, Swansea and Bohemians.
