I refer to the article on Mother Theresa ‘Does she deserve sainthood?’ (The Sunday Times of Malta, March 20.

I am surprised that the article gives importance to the writings of Christopher Hitchens, a staunch critic of Mother Theresa, and even presents readers with his photograph. Yet there is no mention of Malcolm Muggeridge, a British journalist and media personality who had met her and shot a documentary about her and her good works.

Muggeridge became a Christian in 1969. His documentary, together with his book, published in 1971 and sharing the same title, Something Beautiful for God, had introduced Mother Theresa to the world at large.

I quote him: “In the end, coming to faith remains for all a sense of homecoming, of picking up the threads of a lost life, of responding to a bell that had long been ringing, of taking a place at a table that had long been vacant”.
