In my letter to The Times in July I queried Transport Malta’s decision to remove the Saqqajja bus stop, and after pointing out the facts and merit of the same bus stop and its benefits to the Rabat population, I argued that the bus stop should be made operational as soon as possible and not in six months’ time.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Transport Malta for reversing their decision. It’s a welcome relief to Rabat bus users that now buses can be boarded in Saqqajja especially in winter.

My other beef with Transport Malta is seating in the new bus stops. In the Rabat area we have few places that cater for people with a disability so it’s imperative that bus stops have seating facilities. At the moment the only seating is that of two stones and a plank of wood – hardly 21st century . The question of seating was raised in passing with Lawrence Gonzi who seemed to agree about the need of these seats.

I would like to finish this letter by thanking The Times for publishing my letter that made all this possible.
