I came across the mess left by a dog that seems to have spited our local council by leaving it just half a metre away from the container marked specifically for the purpose. If the dog in question were accompanied by its owner, I appeal to him/her to clean the pavement immediately, because the mess has been there since last week despite the rainfall.

Although the Birżebbuġa local council has placed several such containers all along the Sacred Heart Promenade, starting from St George’s Bay, through Pretty Bay and up to the boċċi club, one can still see such messes in a number of places along the way. I am sure not all were created by stray dogs as these are rarely seen around these areas.

Protection and respect for our village environment should be the responsibility of all, including dog owners, by cooperating with our local council’s efforts in keeping Birżebbuġa clean for all its residents.
