Local NGO Amplify is hosting a film night at St James Cavalier, Valletta, on Friday to raise funds to support youth with disabilities in Cambodia.

The event is being organised in aid of Cambodian organisation YODIFEE (Youth with Disabilities for Education and Employment), with whom event organisers Steve Hili and Kathryn Baldacchino volunteered in 2008.

The film being screened is Soldiers of Peace. It gained popularity for the manner in which it documents the global revolution towards peace. It features Bob Geldof and Bishop Desmond Tutu.

Soldiers for Peace has been shown at film festivals around the world. It was also given a special screening at the UN.

Prior to the screening a short presentation about YODIFEE will be held.

The event starts at 6.30 p.m. and the film will be screened at 7 p.m. Entrance is by donation and all proceeds will go to YODIFEE.
