A Cyprus-based software company has launched one of its premier products in Malta because it believes Malta has a great future in the provision of corporate services.

InfoScreen, an office automation solution provider for the corporate and fiduciary sectors, has launched its Quorum solution to the Maltese market.

“By virtue of what we do and the industry we are targeting, we have been destined to pursue international markets,” explained to i-Tech Stelios Iacovides, marketing manager at InfoScreen.

“We have been fortunate enough to be based in a major jurisdiction, which over the years has given us great insight to the industry and at the same time enabled us to come into contact with clients from other markets. Over time this has evolved Quorum into an international product, which can be customized to cater for the needs of over 250 jurisdictions.

“At the beginning of this year we wanted to take this possibility a step further and decided to actively target a number of important jurisdictions, where we saw potential for Quorum. One of these is Malta, which we believe has a great future ahead of with regards corporate services. Of course this potential can be achieved only through correct planning and having the necessary infrastructure to offer excellent services in an efficient way. This is where we believe Quorum can contribute to this effort,” he said.

InfoScreen was established in Cyprus in 1995 and Quorum, its flagship software, is the market leader in Cyprus and is also established in another 10 major jurisdictions worldwide. The client base includes Grant Thornton and Amicorp.

When InfoScreen conducted its research on Malta it found out that although the corporate services sector is booming, there is a lot of room for improvement from an ICT infrastructure point of view.

“Most firms operating in the Maltese corporate services sectors are using in-house solutions which in most parts tend to be fragmented and need a lot of housekeeping. If the sector wishes to grow however and attract more companies, more clients, more investments, the current infrastructure will not be sufficient.

“From our numerous meetings with companies in the sector as well as organisations representing the industry such as Finance Malta, the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners, and the Registrar, the feedback we have is that we have come at the right time. Companies are beginning to thinking of growth and ways that they can achieve that sustainably, with the minimum internal cost and at the same time increasing quality of service,” added Mr Iacovides.

Malta’s proximity to Cyprus is seen as an advantage, especially the negligible time difference of one hour.

“Having said that, in this day and age most software is serviced and supported remotely and there is little to no need for someone to physically be at the client’s premises. To this end, we have invested heavily in creating fast, reliable and effective service channels that work remotely. These include online webinars and training, remote support of the system, live chat, VoIP telephony and so on.”

InfoScreen has an introductory offer for new Maltese Quorum clients which runs until the end of November. Full details of the product on the website www.quorumcentral.com

“We are happy to be in Malta, we feel well received and we hope that we will have the opportunity to contribute to Malta really capturing its potential as an investment and service center,” concluded Mr Iacovides.
