Again and again we hear Labour Party spokesmen and its leader telling everyone that they have the solutions for all the ills affecting Malta, not least, how the tariffs for energy can be drastically cut and how public transport problems can be sorted out.
It is good to hear that we have these things under control but it would be better if we were told how this will be done. As paid representatives of the people, the opposition has the duty to share these solutions with their employers (the people of Malta).
Failing this, they are costing the people whom they represent and who pay them, worry and money.
Failure to help the people in cases like this, to let people suffer for the benefit it may bring to the Labour Party (that is if one is to believe what the PL is saying) is to confirm what former Prime Minister Dom Mintoff said in the late 1990s – Labour has lost its social compass (boxxla soċjali) – and by the looks of things, it has not yet found it.
