A communications company has been ordered to pay €11,455 to an insurance company for premiums that have been due since 2008.

Smash Communications, which owns a television and radio station, was told to pay Allcare Insurance for insurance on cars.

The cars were registered on Joseph Baldacchino on behalf of Smash.

Magistrate Marseann Farrugia rejected the pleas made by Smash Communications that the case was time-barred and that the money was not actually owed by the company but by Andrew Farrugia, who allegedly contracted the insurance company without authorisation and arranged for the amounts to be settled through advertising on Smash.
