Insignia Cards Ltd Malta and Lighthouse Group have launched a new payment system which enables businesses to accept payments via a portable point-of-sale (POS) device.

Representing part of a total investment of €25 million, the payment system is complemented by a new credit card, Yes Net, and a growing network of merchants who accept payment by this card.

The POS consists of a card-reading dongle connected to an Android smartphone. This means, that, for example, if a consumer places an order over the phone, payments can be processed at the customer’s door on delivery. This is of benefit to a variety of businesses from furniture suppliers to florists, food takeaways, household item vendors and more.

This new credit card is fee-free with no introductory or yearly charges and allows consumers to repay in fixed monthly instalments over a period of up to 36 months, with highly competitive interest rates.

Card applications are completed online and without having to open a bank account or deposit any money. Approval is given within 30 seconds.

The card offers a 56-day interest-free period and lines of credit up to €5,000. As an additional benefit, for every euro spent on the card, the consumer earns one Yes Coin, which can be redeemed for a variety of rewards.

Lighthouse Group and Insignia Cards Ltd Malta together employ some 60 members of staff, and have plans to increase the complement.
