A slight drop in the number of traffic accidents was registered in the first six months compared with the same period last year, the National Statistics Office said yesterday.

In total 7,039 accidents were reported between January and June with the number of casualties standing at 871. Fatalities were down to two from four, with a male driver and a pedestrian losing their life.
