The project for an underground car park with an overlying public garden at the Sliema Ferries is no longer a priority for the Government, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Joe Mizzi told Parlia-ment yesterday.

Answering a question by Opposition MP George Pullicino, Mr Mizzi said the latest estimate of the project’s cost had surpassed the original estimate by more than 60 per cent. Besides, the project would entail almost the complete undoing of Transport Malta’s recent works in the area.

Mr Mizzi said that although no longer a priority, the project was still being assessed for feasibility.
