Elderly residents are now able to use Skype at the Mellieħa Day Centre after it was launched yesterday.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Elderly Mario Galea said that according to 2011 figures, 16,000 seniors aged between 65 and 74 had a computer at home and the majority used the internet.

He said day centres brought about an important change in the lives of the seniors and they were an opportunity for the elderly to remain active within their community.
