The captain of a boat in distress at Marsalforn was rescued by volunteers and the Civil Protection Department.

Two Emergency Response and Rescue Corps volunteers threw a line to the mariner after a rope fouled the boat’s propeller. They then helped pull the boat to shore, allowing him to jump to safety.

Members of the CPD were also involved in the rescue, which took place on Monday.

The boat was later lifted ashore by a crane.
