Two English language students were yesterday conditionally discharged and fined €15 each after taking a dip in their birthday suits in Paceville.

The young Frenchmen, aged 16 and 17, who are staying in St Julian’s, got into the water in St George’s Bay at 10.45 p.m. on Saturday and removed their clothes.

They were handcuffed as soon as they came out, legal aid lawyer Martin Fenech told Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona. The teenagers admitted offending public morals while the older one also admitted assaulting arresting officer Constable Joseph Camilleri.

Magistrate Micallef Trigona conditionally discharged the 16-year-old for six months and the 17-year-old for a year.
