What is being billed as the first Maltese skiing championship will be held in Bad Hofgastein, Austria, in mid-March.

Situated in the district of St Johann im Pongau, in the state of Salzburg, Bad Hofgastein has 250 kilometres of pistes that rise as high as 2,700 metres in the area of Sportgastein. There is also one of Europe’s most exclusive and extensive thermal spas, the Alpentherme.

The daring contestants will leave on March 13 returning on March 18, with the giant slalom race being held on March 15.

The event is being organised by the Austrian Embassy in collaboration with YTC Travel.
