Six inmates tested positive for heroin during urine tests at the Corradino Correctional Facility on Thursday night, the Home Affairs Ministry said.

They were transferred to separate divisions, it said, and an investigation to establish how the drugs got into the facility was under way.

Last August, random urine tests started being held for prisoners and officers. Two members of prison staff had tested positive for cocaine.
