A young Sicilian man who slashed a British teenager across the face during an argument on Sunday has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
Salvatore Zisa, 20, admitted to seriously injuring Frazer Clarke, 18, who required stitches after receiving a cut from his temple to his upper lip.
The presiding magistrate, Edwina Grima, sentenced him to a two-year jail term suspended for four years and ordered Mr Zisa to pay a fine of €116.
Giannella de Marco and Gianluca Caruana Curran appeared for the accused. Marion Camilleri appeared for the Briton.
