In his interview with Herman Grech (The Sunday Times, June 5), Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, MP, stated that “MPs have no choice but to vote Yes in order to reflect the country’s nod in favour of divorce when the vote will be taken in Parliament”.

May I remind him and all concerned that neither the Labour Party nor the Nationalist Party had included the introduction of divorce in their electoral programme. As a result, MPs are entitled to vote No, if they deem it right to do so.
