After an unprecedented high number of entries, Elly Grech Pirotta has been chosen as the winner of The Sunday Times of Malta dream Maldives holiday competition.

With the help of her employer, Hudson Holdings, this newspaper surprised Ms Grech Pirotta at work with the good news.

Thinking she had been called in for a meeting with her HR manager, Ms Grech Pirotta’s apprehension turned to joy when she was informed she had been chosen as the winner.

“I can’t believe it,” screamed the mother of two, with her arms raised and a huge smile upon her face.

Ms Grech Pirotta has won a fabulous holiday for two at the five-star Sheraton Full Moon Resort & Spa, courtesy of ROCS Travel and Emirates Airlines.

Her prize includes return Emirates flights to the idyllic Indian Ocean destination; return speedboat transfers; five nights’ accommodation in a beach-front deluxe room; daily buffet breakfast and evening meal; all taxes and charges.

The winner correctly answered that the Sheraton Full Moon Resort & Spa has 20 Ocean Villas.

Both Ms Grech Pirotta and her husband are keen divers and they are looking forward to submerging themselves in the crystal-clear Indian Ocean.

Although they have been to exotic locations in the past, such as Thailand and Jamaica, they have not holidayed anywhere outside of Europe since their first child was born 14 years ago.
