Transport Minister Austin Gatt gave details in Parliament on terminal benefits paid to the CEOs of the Malta Maritime Authority and the Malta Transport Authority on their resignations.

Maintaining that there had been no political or ministerial pressure for the resignations, Dr Gatt said they had respectively received €52,526 and €24,257.

The chairmen of the two authorities had received no compensation. Neither had the outgoing chairman of Mita.

Dr Gatt was replying to a question by Opposition whip Joe Mizzi.
