Middlesea Insurance plc has announced three new senior management appointments, after recently naming Alfredo Muñoz Perez president and chief executive officer.

Christopher Borg has been appointed vice-president corporate services after formerly occupying the post of personal assistant to the chairman and chief officer, chairman’s office. He is a chartered accountant and a warranted auditor. Former chief operations officer Anne Marie Tabone has been named vice-president operations. A chartered accountant, she will be responsible for the operational functions of the company.

James Mallia, previously executive head in the accounts department, is now financial controller. He too is a chartered accountant. All three will report to chief executive officer Muñoz Perez who has 13 years’ experience in a senior management position with the Mapfre Group, where he gained extensive insight of the insurance industry.

Mr Muñoz Perez underlined that this new management team and internal structure of the company is aimed at further strengthening Middlesea Insurance plc’s leading position within the local insurance market.
