Giovanni Bonello, in his characteristic way, persists in implying that our Constitutional Court has the power to revoke, and/or amend laws it considers unconstitutional.

Moreover he attributes this power to the Constitution itself and does this in his usual abrasive style. Bonello’s penchant for vituperation is misdirected.

It should be aimed at Parliament, the supreme representative body entrusted with safeguarding the basic right of citizens to the protection of the law, a law that is consistent with the Constitution.
