Floriana will open its gardens, museums, historical sites and buildings to the public for the third edition of Ġenna ta’Ġonna... u ħafna aktar from 9am to 5pm this Sunday.

Some of these sites are not usually accessible to the public, while gardens such as Sa Maison Garden and St Philip’s Garden lie hidden between the thick bastion walls.

There are some 15 public gardens in Floriana, but this year’s attractions include original documents of the Knights, kept at the CapuchinFriars Library; mummified friars in the same convent; Floriana’s underground train station; Montgomery House and the opportunity to climb up to Floriana’s Parish Church roof and belfry.

In Sarria Church, professional restorers will be working on Mattia Preti’s painting of the Immaculate Conception.
