Photographer Joe Smith is working on the second volume of his book Survivors, which deals with the ageing population of Vittoriosa, because he feels there are more stories to be told.

A noble commitment that freezes time for a second, preserving it

The first volume was extensively covered by international magazine Black And White Photography.

Max Houghton, course leader of MA photojournalism at West-minster University who interviewed Mr Smith for the feature, described the project as “a noble commitment that freezes time for a second, preserving it, and a generation of memories, in magnificent monochrome”.

Mr Smith has just published the second reprint of the book.
