We would like to voice our concern about events that are being held at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali.

My husband and I are disabled persons using wheelchairs. A few days ago, we had the pleasure of attending the fabulous show given by the VOCA People.

When we booked our tickets we could buy them for anywhere in the hall, without having someone telling us that we needed to stay in the “disabled area”.

In fact, for this show we had booked the first row and we were also given complimentary tickets as disabled persons. We only paid for our personal assistant.

Unfortunately, this does not happen when shows are not organised directly by the MFCC. In these cases, we would have to book tickets in an area designated for “disabled persons” (situated further back) with reduced-price tickets.

We feel this is not fair, knowing that the MFCC is fully accessible.

Why can’t we book and stay wherever we want if we pay the full price?

Why are we in a position to do that only if the event is held by MFCC itself and not organised by someone else?
