Dixon’s Promotions will be hosting the Boxing Rockstars night at the Hilton Conference Centre on September 30.

Pooling together pugilistic talent from Malta, Scotland, Germany, England and Sweden, the event will be showcasing no fewer than three main events – two of which WBU title fights – and an undercard comprising 11 other bouts.

Scott Dixon will be frontlining the Boxing Rockstars in an attempt to unify world titles with a fourth and hang the WBU world middleweight belt in his home gym.

He will be stepping in the ring for 12 three-minute rounds, and throwing down with the younger and steely German heavy-hitter Steffen Sparborth who has lined 10 out of 13 of his pro bouts with KO stoppages.

With this match coinciding with his 40th birthday, Dixon will be trying to reach a new milestone in his career that has spanned over 20 years.

In another bout, Maltese powerhouse Billy Corito will be spearheading another world title bid as he fights his way through towards the WBU European Heavyweight belt against another Germany fighter – Hasan Olaki.

Both boxers, being almost neck and neck with their number of fights as well as wins by stoppage to their names, means that those present for the Boxing Rockstars can rest assured that this fight, scheduled for 10 rounds, promises to be a well-balanced affair.

Another highlight of the evening will see the up-and-coming Malik Zinad go toe-to-toe with British boxer Jamie Gelder in a match scheduled over six rounds.

Despite being a relatively new face on the circuit, Zinad is showing great promise with a signature style that chains knock-out prone blows at the end of surgically-precise skills and sharp wits.

This has caught the eye of Donny Lalonde – a former WBC champion who has taken Zinad under his wing.

The supporting acts at the Hilton will involve rising stars, the likes of WBU champion Duncan Calleja, Tyrone Cutajar, Fathi Brebesh, Claire Ciantar and Fabian Fenech among others.

Also included in the programme will be a Muay Thai fight, that will pit Matthew Palcarz against Sweden’s Costas Nanga, and a MMA bout involving Swedish fighter Oskar Widman and Vladas Valuncius, of Lithuania.

The guest of honour and host for the night at the Boxing Rockstars will be Samuel Seung Chan Ericsson, a martial arts expert and a Hollywood actor.

The weigh-in is pencilled for September 29.
