Malta junior champion Kyle Sciberras, who plays for Msida Arrows Badminton Club, will take part in the ninth Luxembourg Youngsters International tournament, being held this weekend.

Sciberras has entered the Under-17 singles and doubles where he will be partnered by Livio Loi, who hails from Luxembourg.

Sciberras has already competed abroad twice in his career, obtaining positive results in separate tournaments played in Cyprus.

In addition to his local training at club and national level, Sciberras has been preparing intensively for the Luxembourg tournament through overseas training camp participation.

As part of this build-up, he took an active part in the Summer School, organised by Badminton Europe in Vejen, Denmark.

Sciberras returned to Denmark for a two-week training course staged at the Badminton Academy run by the Odense Badminton Club.

This combined Danish experience surely enabled Sciberras to improve his already high standard of play. It will also provide him with added confidence for his forthcoming participation in Luxembourg.

“Thanks to my sponsor, Hell Energy Drink, and with the help of Blue Elephant Malta, the Luxembourg Youngsters International will be the first in a series of tournaments I will be taking part in,” Sciberras said.

“These are exciting times in my career and I can’t wait to get on court and start playing.”
