St Benedict College Boys Secondary, Kirkop, recently organised ‘Festa Komunità’ (community fest).

The event aimed to promote a sense of community among the students and to raise funds for Puttinu Cares.

A total of €5,000 was raised during the event, which started with a three-kilometre fun run and included activities such as a football tournament, athletics, indoor games, hair and beauty treatments by Mcast students, an exhibition on Maltese culture and a bazaar.

There was also a folk Mass, with hymns sung to the tune of traditional Maltese għana.

This was followed by a performance by a marching band comprising some 170 musicians from Żurrieq, Qrendi, Mqabba, Safi, Kirkop, Gudja, Għaxaq and Birżebbuġa.
