A ceremony was held at the German Embassy last Thursday to honour four Maltese students who successfully applied for German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarships.

The awardees had to compete with thousands of applicants from across the world for their scholarships.

Carla Farrugia was awarded a research grant for doctoral candidates at Humboldt University, Berlin; Lisa Marie Zammit was awarded a university summer course placement at Humboldt University; Naomi Bartolo was awarded a university summer course placement at Goethe University, Frankfurt and Lynette Camilleri was awarded an intensive language course placement at the Herder-Institute of the University of Leipzig

They will begin their courses in July.
