One of the three Gozo ferries, the MV Malita would be undergoing its routine obligatory docking next month necessitating some changes to the schedule, according to Gozo Channel Co. Ltd.

To compensate for the lower vehicle capacity, the company said it would run three extra schedule trips during the week. During the five-week docking period, starting on January 2, all cargo trips to Sa Maison in Pieta’ will be operated ad hoc late in the evening and operators are being asked to use the Ċirkewwa trip as much as possible.

In view of the temporary adjustments to the schedule, the 6.45 a.m. trip from both Ċirkewwa and Mġarr will be substituted by two trips at 6.30 a.m. and 7 a.m. The three afternoon trips scheduled at 3 p.m., 3.45 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. will become four but will run at 3 p.m. 3.30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 4.30 p.m.

A shuttle service would also be provided if the demand arises, Gozo Channel said, assuring that it would be doing its utmost to reduce the vessel’s stay at the shipyard as much as possible.
