Political satire returned to Carnival yesterday after an 80-year absence with a float of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat holding a Maltese passport and a gas cylinder. Another float showed Nationalist Party leader Simon Busuttil, deputy leader Beppe Fenech Adam and MP Claudette Buttigieg.

Yesterday’s mild weather allowed celebrations to continue unhindered in Valletta with a Children’s Carnival and costume competition as well as a parade of floats.
