I read in this newspaper (July 1) that a feasibility study is under way on whether or not plans to replenish the sandy beach at Xemxija will eventually be implemented.
As stated, many factors need studying before any definite decision is made but such a proposal would be welcomed, I dare say, by many.
However, I would suggest that the pivotal key element/factor to be considered is the quality of the seawater in the area, which has been off limits, so to speak, for many years to bathers with notices advising that swimming is not permitted there, an omission which failed to be addressed in the report.
A classic case of which comes first: the chicken or the egg. Hope this input helps.
