Former tourism minister Mario de Marco expressed satisfaction at Tourism Minister Karmenu Vella’s statement that there would be no change in tourism policy.

The present tourism product was more diversified, less seasonal and in a stronger position to face challenges than before – all thanks to improved accessibility and marketing, he said.

He criticised the Government for forcing a number of resignations, including all permanent secretaries, and for the “undignified removal” of the chairmen of Bank of Valletta and the National Sports Council.
