Fr David Farrugia (right) has been appointed parish priest of Safi.

Born in April of 1979, Fr Farrugia carried out his tertiary studies — philosophy and theology — at the University of Malta. He was ordained to the priesthood in June, 2004, and started his pastoral work in Tarxien where he served for two years. He was then appointed vice-parish priest of Luqa and rector of Ħal Farruġ for four years.

He was also a spiritual director at St Benedict’s College in Kirkop for six years.

For the past four years, Fr Farrugia served as chaplain of the Junior College, and as a priest in Santa Luċija.
