On the road behind Valletta Waterfront, protecting a pillar, one finds a sort of traffic island made of crash barriers. I always pass this part with apprehension.

I imagine that were one to have an accident and crash in the middle section, sliding against the crash barrier, and maybe dislodging it, one can easily finish against the end of the third part.

Being at driver’s head level, and finishing in a straight end, I have this vision of a driver being decapitated.

Can someone, maybe a motoring expert, assure us that this traffic island is built in such a way that such an accident can never happen?
