We hope and pray that the remaining injured from the recent car show accident will make a quick recovery.
We must not take the outcome of the inquiry lightly. God must have been on the side of the spectators given that such a powerful car, driven at such speeds, did not kill anyone.
Life experience has thought us that when there are crowds watching such events, there is alwaysthe chance of an accident, as has happened worldwide and on numerous occasions. For example, it may be the right time to look at air show safety. Malta is in a privileged position in that it is surrounded by sea, which I am sure is envied by many air show organisers abroad.
Without sounding like the proverbial prophet of doom, it is not a matter of if but when an accident will occur over land.
Let us learn from the past and ensure that we play as safe as we can when organising such events.
