An exhibition of around 150 pieces by Richard England is now open at Bank of Valletta’s head office in Santa Venera.
The bank has been privileged to host some of Malta’s leading artists over the past 13 years. The decision to dedicate this year’s annual exhibition to Prof. England will add a prestigious name to the already impressive list.
The retrospective exhibition was officially inaugurated by President George Abela, who praised Prof. England for his work in architecture, sculpture, graphics and art.
Addressing the guests during the inauguration, BOV chairman John Cassar White said: “The exhibitions are just one part of the bank’s efforts to promote and showcase local talent.
“In this particular case, it is hard to know which of Richard England’s many talents should take precedence: his architecture, his sculpture, his drawings or his poetry. Each of these artistic genres is brought to life by his unique approach, where emotion and passion perfectly complement technical calculation.”
As in all the past editions, this exhibition is being accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue, including a biographical syn- opsis and reproductions in colour of all the exhibits on display.
The exhibition will remain open until July 19.
