The Retired Educators Section of the MUT launched its programme of activities for 2016-7 when it organised an outing to the recently restored Citadel in Victoria. Almost 50 participants attended the outing.

The group visited the Cathedral, the Old Prison, the Natural Science Museum, the Folklore Museum and the newly-opened silos. The group also viewed a documentary on the Citadel’s history at the Visitors Centre. This was followed by a stroll in the restored ditch which in the past served to protect Gozitans from pirate attacks.

The group later congregated in Pjazza Savina where they found transport waiting to take them to Marsalforn for a meal at Lantern Restaurant.

The group were then taken to Mġarr Harbour to catch the ferry to Malta and return home.
