The Latin proverb states De mortuis nihil nisi bonum. I write today to recall the memory of Mgr John Dimech, a beloved and holy priest, so as to remember him in our prayers.

Mgr Dimech, who was chaplain to the late Archbishop Michael Gonzi, was also Conventual chaplain of the Maltese Assocation of the Order of Malta.

He offered his continuous support to the tiny group of volunteers of the Order in Gozo where he lived for the greater part of his life.

He passed away four years ago, on January 6, 2009, at the venerable age of 86 years and he still remains dear for all of us who have known him. Requiescat in pace!
