When an 18-year-old cleaner told her parents her boss was groping her repeatedly at work, her brothers and uncles beat him up to teach him a lesson, a court heard yesterday.

Her two brothers, uncle and an in-law headed to the company manager’s office and assaulted him, Magistrate Antonio Mizzi heard. Each pleaded guilty to injuring the manager and damaging his office. They were given a two-year jail term, suspended for four years, and will be paying for the damage caused.

Police Inspector Spiridione Zammit, prosecuting, said the woman would be taking legal action against the manager for sexual harassment.

The magistrate banned publication of the men’s names to protect the victim’s identity.
