I am a Maltese living in Oslo (I have been here for three years) and I currently work with the Norwegian government in social responsibility within public procurement. I wish to comment on the headlines on the tragedy here in Oslo.

I am amazed by the news reports regarding the PN and their association to far-right views because of them being named in the manifesto of the one who caused this tragedy here in Norway.

These writings are of a mad man – incoherently written and copied from many other sources. I cannot see how what he has written can be taken to have any face value. I cannot believe all those comments on timesofmalta.com regarding these issues. It is terrible to see how such a tragedy can be turned into a political debate in Malta. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

The suffering of the families and youths that are still alive is beyond any imagination... yet what are these people arguing about – the name of the political party.

A plea from a Maltese who is seeing at first-hand how people are being affected: get real! Think of the people suffering not of your political selfishness. Think outside of your box. Have compassion, pray for the souls of the departed and for their families.

We cannot reduce tragedies like this to the Maltese political situation.
