While this building located in 11-13, Triq id-Dejqa, Siġġiewi appears to be very similar to others in the surroundings, it contains a number of mediaeval features that are very rare. These features include roundel carvings, a unique relief of mason’s tools containing additional small roundels within it, ventilator (rewwieħa) and other features typical of the period.

The site is highly significant historically since very few examples survive of such mediaeval remains. The only other known relief depicting mason’s marks in the Maltese islands is located in St Paul’s catacombs. While this is one of two, the design proper is unique and probably dates back to Roman times. Originally such houses were introvert with only a single doorway and small windows on higher levels on the main elevation.

Mepa scheduled the property at Numbers 11-13 as a Grade 2 national monument as per government notice 22 dated January 10, 2012.
