Eight students have won over €1,000 worth of BoV Master Card prepaid cards as prizes in the BoV Club Quiz.

The quiz challenged students over 12 weeks during summer. In the interim, almost 1,500 users installed the application and participated in the game. On a daily basis, users could try their luck at answering random questions about banking in general, the bank’s history, its suite of products as well as its involvement in community. About 50 games were played every day – 4,000 quizzes over 84 days.

The overall winner was Rachel Vella Baldacchino who managed to get all questions right in 35 seconds. Christian Briffa was runner-up. They took home €375 and €250 in prepaid cards respectively.

Four runners-up were also rewarded. In addition, prizes were presented to Bekka Craus as the student who shared the quiz most often on Facebook and to Jerome Caruana Cilia for inviting the largest number of friends to participate. In addition, BoV gave a token gift to the weekly highest-ranking student.

Michael Galea, chief officer operations, met the overall winners at the BoV Centre in Santa Venera and congratulated them, remarking it was a privilege to see the number of club members reach 4,400 in a world where social media had become so pervasive.

This was corroborated by Vanessa Macdonald, head of the bank’s media and community relations, who explained that through social media, BoV had an unprecedented opportunity to interact with customers and engage with them in real-time.
