I would like to complain about the bad service being rendered by the Maltapost branch at Old Bakery Street, Valletta. This appears to be all due to understaffing.
How does the management expect clients to be served in good time when only one employee is seeing to all the needs of the clients? These include mail service, registered letters, payment of bills, changing of cheques, posting of parcels, handling bulky items, distributing mail into the mail boxes and serving mail box owners, apart from other needs that a Maltapost counter entails. If one is lucky, one has to wait in the queue for at least 45 minutes, depending on the needs of the clients.
The management should confirm this complaint by consulting the CCTV cameras in the branch.
When using this service, which is very frequently, I am being asked by my employer to account for the time of absence from the office.
I hope that this complaint will be seriously looked into by the powers that be because we have no other option but to use Maltapost.
